How would you start to organize a successful business trip to China?
China is a long haul destination and consequently developing worthwhile business there can prove to be a costly exercise. This is particularly so if your visits to the market and ability to follow up enquiries are not well organized Here are just a few of the problems that you need to overcome initially.
- It goes without saying that China is geographically huge, therefore travelling, particularly outside the main cities, can be a logistical nightmare.
- Organizing hotels
- There are differences in language. English is not widely spoken, and there are even different dialects of Chinese,
- Social and business culture differences – it is all too easy to make innocent mistakes which can have serious effects on your credibility
Once you have made contact with potential customers or partners you then need to be able to keep in contact. Most contracts in China take longer than normally expected, patience and perseverance are required.
How will you achieve this?
With offices in both the UK and China, our approach is to combine the business practices of both cultures, and, to ensure that our client's aims are fulfilled, we offer a variety of services to those wishing to develop contacts in China.
Let us help with:
- initial planning and market research,
- logistical planning during your trip
- provision of support staff
- continued liaison with contacts
Company Profile:
History
Anderen was established by Managing Director Adrian Allen (An De Ren) and Director of Chinese Operations Silvia Fan (Fan Xin Wen), as a result of working for a British company trying to establish a base in China, and who are now successfully trading there.
We did extensive research into the problems associated with setting up an office, dealing with the various government agencies, methods of establishing a presence in the market, and the general logistics of getting around China.
As a result of this, we gained valuable, first hand experience of the problems facing a company wanting to start to trade in China.
Many of our clients Chinese customers are equally keen to do find partners, and so we can act as a bridge between East and West.
